Katie Brown is a queer, internationally exhibited, emerging multimedia artist located in Victoria, British Columbia (on the traditional territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ, Songhees & Esquimalt peoples). Their practice is entrenched in feminism, is oozing with a curiosity for memory and is filled to the brim with; found media, home movies, and stories. Katie received their BFA (Hon.) in visual arts from the University of Victoria in 2020. Katie’s work is rooted in images new and found, moving and still. They take inspiration from life experience, memory, film, old commercials and most importantly, National Geographic Magazine (the older the issue the better).
